OverDrive is a UC Berkeley Library service for borrowing ebooks and audiobooks. You can access books online, download them to a device, or read them on an ereader such as Kindle. OverDrive is available to current UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff.
How it works: Simply log in with your CalNet ID and borrow up to 5 books for up to 21 days, after which the books will automatically be returned. You can also renew books and place holds on books when logged into OverDrive. If a book you want is on hold, the OverDrive website lets you know the approximate waiting time as well as how many people are currently waiting for the book. Preview samples of books before borrowing, add books to wish lists, and rate books, too.
