We’ve recently licensed a new EBSCOhost database, Environment Complete. Environment Complete indexes about 2500 periodicals (scholarly journals and magazines) and contains full-text for about 1100 titles covering a wide variety of environmental topics.
Environment Complete is a great first database to try for those new to researching environmental topics, and it can be useful for more advanced researchers, too.
How does Environment Complete compare to our other environment-themed databases?
- GreenFILE is a smaller database with a more narrow focus (human impact on the environment). GreenFILE is geared toward the general public, so unique content in GreenFILE may include older NGO reports and pamphlets, consumer-oriented magazines, etc.
- Environmental Sciences and Pollution Management (ES&PM) is larger than Environment Complete – it is a collection of numerous smaller databases that together index about 6000 titles. Thus for many searches, particularly for topics like pollution, remediation, and toxicology, you will get more results with ES&PM. Search results will include conference material, reports, and environmental impact statements, so ES&PM is good for searching the environmental ‘grey literature.’
