You may have noticed a new library location in OskiCat – Lawrence Berkeley National Lab (LBNL)!
On July 30, over 17,000 records from the LBNL Library were added to our library catalog. What does this change mean for you?
- Campus patrons can now request items from the LBNL Library to pick up at any campus library (just like they can do for NRLF items)
- LBNL staff can request and check out materials from campus libraries using their LBNL photo ID
- LBNL staff can request items from libraries at other universities using the Request option in Melvyl
- People with joint UCB/LBNL appointments are considered campus patrons and will continue to use their Cal1 cards as their library cards
If you have any questions about this exciting development, please be sure to ask your librarian.
Note: The Request button does not yet appear in OskiCat for LBNL Library items, so campus patrons cannot place requests themselves at this time. Very soon, this problem will be fixed. In the meantime, please ask circulation desk staff to place requests for LBNL Library materials for you.
