The United States Department of Energy (DOE) provides access to some of its research data online through the DOE Data Explorer. This web portal makes scientific data, including: “computer simulations, numeric data files, figures and plots, interactive maps, multimedia, and scientific images” available to interested researchers.
From the DDE site: “The DOE Data Explorer includes a database of citations prepared by the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) based on the information found at data-hosting Web sites. It is intended to be particularly useful to students, the public, and to researchers who are new to a field or looking for experimental or observational data outside their normal field of expertise.”
The site features a data search tool and the ability to browse by title, content type, DOE Data Center, DOE User Facility, sponsor, or subject category. Many of the datasets include search and analysis tools developed by the data owners.
