Here are some things you can do through the library website at times when the libraries are closed.
Most of these resources are available only to UC Berkeley students, faculty, and staff; for details, see Connecting from Off Campus.
- Search OskiCat and compile a list of items to get after we reopen. You can also save “preferred searches” to re-run later on, and be notified when we get new items matching those searches. [Details]
- Read an e-book. OskiCat has links to over 400,000 online items. To limit your search to these, pull down the menu labeled “Entire Collection” and click on the first option, “Available Online.”
- Look up journal, magazine, and newspaper articles in our article databases. In many cases, you can read the full text of the article online.
- Explore over 1,000 electronic resources, including archives, book and film reviews, image and sound databases, encyclopedias, atlases, and much more.
- Listen to past programs in the City Arts & Lectures radio series or recordings from the Free Speech Movement of the 1960s.
- Pay a virtual visit to our online exhibits, many containing material not available elsewhere.
