Hands on with Artists’ Books and the Natural World

Forest trees

Artists’ books are too often locked behind exhibit cases, but the next hands on event at the Environmental Design Library will feature twenty artists’ books exploring nature that you can touch, turn pages, and experience.

Artists’ books defy conventional reading and involve the viewer through sight, touch, and physical manipulation.

Jonathan Gerken, graduate of the UC Berkeley Visual Studies program, will speak about his work as a letterpress printer and book maker.

Wine and light refreshments will be served.

Date: Friday, January 29

Time: 4:00pm – 6:00 pm

Location: 210 Wurster Hall, Environmental Design Library Atrium

This event is hosted by David Eifler, Jennifer Osgood, Molly Rose and Lauri Twitchell
