The Movies @ Moffitt series features films selected by students for students, on the first Wednesday of each month. This month’s selection, American Arab, will play on Wednesday, September 2nd.
Plot Summary: Iraqi-American filmmaker Usama Alshaibi shares his own story of experiencing racism in post-9/11 America. Showcasing the diversity of Arabs living in the United States, American Arab sparks a frank conversation about identity and perception, and argues for giving people “the space to be complicated.” (Dir. When: September 2nd. Doors open at 6:30pm, and the film starts at 7:00pm.
