Internship for Artist Files Collection

We are very pleased to welcome library intern Katherine Steiner to the Art History/Classics Library. Katherine will be doing a four month internship from April-July, 2011 to complete her Masters degree in Information and Library Sciences from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Sciences de l’Information et des Bibliothèques (ENSSIB), in Lyon, France. Katherine has a Masters degree in Art History, with a specialization in Contemporary Art with a focus on Land Art. She has also worked at the Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art Library in Paris.

Katherine will be processing and creating a Finding Aid for the Artist Files Collection, a large group of minor exhibition catalogs for over 5,000 international artists, primarily covering the 1960s and 1970s. After beginning the project Katherine stated: “Working on archiving and promoting a collection of art catalogues is one of the best missions I can think of. It gives me the opportunity to use and improve both my Art History and Information Sciences skills. And we find amazing material every single day!”

Katherine is working on this project in 414 Doe. Stop by to say hello!
