Website and catalog downtime October 6

The library website, the OskiCat catalog, and many other online systems will be down from 4am to 7am on Thursday October 6.

Affected systems include:

3. Setting Preferences, using Advanced Search
4. Cited reference searching
5. Shortcomings of using Google for research
6. Other sources of free, online books

When: Wednesday, October 12, 2011, 10-11 am

Class Objective:
This class will teach participants skills to efficiently and effectively search Google, Google Scholar, Google Books and WorldCat to retrieve relevant information and literature for their jobs.

Audience:
This class is intended for CDPH staff whose work requires more effective Internet searching, and finding articles and books on work-related topics.

Supervisors: Please encourage your staff to attend, if appropriate.

These one-hour training sessions are free to CDPH employees. Please obtain your supervisor’s approval to attend.


Art History/Classics Library closure

Date changed: The Art History/Classics Library is closed until Thursday October 13, while major maintenance work is done on the Doe Library building.

During the closure, OskiCat users can request that materials be paged for their use by clicking on the Art History/Classics location link or by following the instructions on this page.

Also during this time, Art History/Classics course reserves will be available at the Moffitt Library circulation desk.
