Peer-reviewed research on alternative therapies such as herbs and functional foods can be difficult to find. These therapies are of interest to many Berkeley students, faculty, and staff for a number of reasons. Some are seeking information in order to make personal health decisions. Others are looking for evidence-based research related to their own research in fields such as medical ethnobotany, sports medicine, toxicology, nutrition, or other public health research areas.
The Natural Standard collection of databases provides high quality, evidence-based information about complementary and alternative health therapies, such as herbs, acupuncture, and dietary supplements.
Evidence-based and peer-reviewed research is aggregated and synthesized into easy-to-use databases and interactive tools. Natural Standard is a full-text source, and contains additional references to the primary literature.
