New open access journal: Online Journal of Public Health Informatics

The first edition of the Online Journal of Public Health Informatics (OJPHI), developed at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health, was recently released. The journal will “provide a forum for practitioners, researchers, educators, policy makers and students to disseminate knowledge about best practices and research findings.”

OJPHI is the only journal in the health sciences disciplines which focuses on data acquisition, data management, database and information systems development, and knowledge management with the sole purpose of improving population health,” says Dr. Edward K. Mensah, associate professor of health policy and administration at UIC School of Public Health and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal.

A press release about the new journal is available in the ASPH Friday Letter. Interesting set of articles in the first issue.
