Please join us in welcoming to Access Services Division Jenna Jackson as the Library Privileges Desk Operations Manager.

Jenna started as a student employee for the Art History/Classics Library in 2011 where she developed and honed her public service skills. One of the special projects given to her during her time as a student employee was coordinating the movement of print materials from various sections of the library in preparation for major roof repair to the building.

After graduating with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in education and human rights, Jenna was hired in 2012 as a temporary Circulation Library Assistant at the Environmental Design Library. In that role she was responsible for completing an inventory of the entire collection. After the Circulation Supervisor left to take a position at another institution, Jenna stepped in as interim work-leader and supervisor to the student employees.

In 2013, Jenna was hired in Access Services Division as a career library assistant splitting her time between Privileges and the Stacks units. In this position, Jenna took the initiative to design a carrel reservation system in Google Drive, as well as learning more about the automatic patron record loads. She also worked on the move and integration of the collections from Business and Moffitt libraries into Gardner Stacks.

In her new assignment, Jenna will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of borrowing privileges for library cardholders.

Please welcome Jaime Santos to the Social Sciences Division as the Evening and Weekend Work Leader. Jaime will be based in the Environmental Design library.

Jaime is a recent graduate of UC Berkeley, having completed his bachelors in philosophy this past May. As a student Jaime worked in the stacks of Doe/Moffitt under the guidance of Paul Lynch where Jaime made a name for himself as a student who went above and beyond to get the job done.

Please welcome Amy Clausen to the Arts & Humanities Division as the new Curatorial Assistant for the Art History-Classics Library.

Amy joins us from CU Boulder, where she was a Research and Instruction Librarian since 2010, teaching hundreds of instruction hours. These seminars included Classics graduate and undergraduate library orientations and seminars; creating research guides and using new media to reach out to the student body. Amy has an MLIS and will be completing her second advanced degree (M.A.) in Classical Studies coursework in the course of 2015.

In her new assignment, Amy will be responsible for supporting the collection development and completing special projects in conjunction with the Art History and Classics Librarians. In addition, she will assist in the processing of new materials, donor gifts and special collections. Amy will also utilize her instructional background to assist in some classroom instruction and ad hoc reference sessions as the need arises.

Amy brings a bright enthusiasm to the position and we are very pleased to have her join the Arts & Humanities division.
