New CDC E-course for Public Health Emergency Response

The CDC’s CASPER e-course has just been released this spring for public health professionals. CASPER (Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response) is an epidemiologic tool designed to provide to decision-makers household-based information about an affected community’s needs quickly and in a simple format.

The course details how to effectively use the CASPER methodology to respond during public health emergencies. It covers how to determine what is needed to prepare for a CASPER, identify the steps for conducting a CASPER in the field, analyze CASPER data, and interpret the results of a CASPER.

Continuing education credit may be earned after completing the case study. To receive it, you must register as a participant at CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education Online. You will then need to register for the course (WB2390) and complete the evaluation and examination online.

This course has been approved for the following continuing education credits, among others: CECH, CME, CNE, and IACET CEU.
