John Matthias will read at noon Thursday, October 4, in the Morrison Library. Rich in its landscapes and its search for personal discovery, his poetry encompasses vast territories of history and culture. Robert Duncan once called Matthias “…one of those wandering souls out of the Dark Age in our own time.” He has published more than twenty-five books, twelve of which are poetry, and is the editor of Notre Dame Review. This is his first visit to the west coast in over twenty-five years.
