"The Changing Face of Europe" includes books, maps, photos and artifacts from the Library's collections documenting the transformation of European politics and society in the aftermath of World War II and the Cold War. It looks at the way in which the Old World's nations and peoples addressed the problems of postwar reconstruction and focuses particular attention on the creation of the European Union and its attendant agencies, including the introduction of the Euro and the stresses which have accompanied political and economic unification.
The exhibit will run through August 2007 in the Bernice Layne Brown Gallery of Doe Library. It was developed by Sabine Bachofner, curatorial assistant, and James H. Spohrer, Librarian for the Germanic Collections.
