Faculty & Grads: Change in Research Library Cooperative Program (RLCP)

UT Austin has decided to terminate direct-to-patron lending through RLCP, in favor of having requests come through normal interlibrary loan channels.  Going forward, Berkeley patrons trying to request from UT Austin via the RLCP web page will be directed to our Interlibrary Borrowing Service.
UTA material requests made through the Interlibrary Borrowing Service will be available for pickup at the IBS desk in 133 Doe Library (not at Main Circulation). The initial loan period will be two months, with the possibility of renewal.
Please note that the on-site visits and in-person checkouts that have been part of the RLCP relationship are not affected by this change.  Our relationship with our other RLCP partner, Stanford, remains unchanged.

Interlibrary loan expands to international institutions

The UC Berkeley Interlibrary Services Department is now partnering with peer international institutions such as University of Edinburgh and Munich’s Bayerische Staatsbibliothek to share library resources. This pilot program, available to support the research needs of faculty and graduate students, expands the service beyond the photocopies that were available previously. Patrons can submit their requests using the Request button in Melvyl. The pilot program, which is free, will last through the summer of 2015.
