Mario Savio Memorial Lecture: Crime and Punishment in America

Anthony Romero, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union, will be this year’s featured speaker at the Mario Savio Memorial Lecture. Romero is the ACLU’s sixth executive director, and the first Latino and openly gay man to serve in that capacity.

This memorial lecture series honors the memory of the late Mario Savio, spokesperson for Berkeley’s Free Speech Movement, and the spirit of moral courage which he and other activists of his generation exemplified.

The event is free and open to the public though reserving a ticket is highly recommended.
