UC libraries partner with Google to digitize books

The UC Libraries have joined with Google in a project to scan and digitize books in our collections, along with those of the University of Michigan, Harvard University, Stanford University, Oxford University, and the New York Public Library. The full text of the books will then be searchable via Google Book Search, though only out-of-copyright works will be fully viewable online. At this time, scanning of UC items for this project has not yet begun.
